About Celsius

Celsius, or centigrade, is a temperature scale used globally for weather forecasts, scientific applications, and daily use. It is named after Anders Celsius, a Swedish astronomer who first proposed a similar system in 1742. The scale sets the freezing point of water at 0°C and the boiling point at 100°C under standard atmospheric conditions.

About Reaumur

The Reaumur scale, named after the French scientist René Antoine Ferchault de Réaumur, was proposed in 1730. This scale sets the freezing point of water at 0°Re and the boiling point at 80°Re. Though it has largely been replaced by the Celsius scale in most applications, it is still used in some parts of Europe and in various scientific studies.
